cassandra was the daughter of king priam and queen hecuba of troy. apollo was enchanted by her beauty, so he gave her a gift: the gift of prophecy. she, however, did not return the love shown by apollo. so he rendered her prophecies useless by making her unbelievable. she can see the future, but no one believes her. that would be rough.
i just recently started drinking coffee and while i find it to be a refreshing pick-me-up, i cannot say the same about the small, coffee straws that can be found in offices and gas stations. these straws are dangerous. if you don't completely wrap your lips around the straw, there is a tendency to suck it down your throat causing massive neurological trauma and possible hypoxia. yes, these little straws need to be put up high away on a shelf so adults cannot reach them and hurt themselves. it's a public safety issue and i hope the obama administration gets to work on this issue right away.
pitchfork took about three weeks off and now they're catching up, calling it "while we were out." there's an entry in there about wilco and it includes jeff's sons blog. it's a pretty good read.
mcdonalds has a 401K plan.
speaking of fast food, here is a jack-in-the-box dietery breakdown of their food. take a moment and see how much fat and calories make up just one jumbo jack or ultimate cheeseburger. you will forever swear off this shit. you can do this for each fast food restaurant you've eaten at.
as far as my football picks go, it was a tale of two weekends. saturday: 0-2. sunday: 2-0. so my AFC superbowl pick is out. i have replaced the colts with the ravens. my NFC superbowl pick is still alive, mostly because they didn't play this weekend. they had a bye. so giants-ravens is where i'm putting my money now.
meebo.
