no work and all play

i need to amend an earlier post. the stanley hotel is not where they filmed the shining. it's where stephen king stayed and was inspired to write the shining. the exterior shots were shot in oregon, while the interior was on a soundstage in london. so the hotel looked a little different then we expected. but it was cool nonetheless. they play the shining all day and all night on one of the channels in your room. we watched most of it. however, our room was not haunted. we stayed on the most "active" floor, but no ghosts or ghouls for us that night. the next day we took off from estes park and headed to the rocky mountain national forest. we hiked around sprague lake, where it was still pretty snowy. we tried to go up further in the mountains, but the weather turned on us and we headed back down. estes park was great. i bought that red hat for $10! and it's immediately the best hat i own. we found a local brewery there and talked to the owner for a while. they have a big party in june we're going to be going to. we had a fantastic time. and we're really happy enjoying our new state. by the way, we tried to go to a rockies game on sunday. it was snowed out! can you believe it?!
